How to Get the Guitar Smash on Spongebob Squarepants: The Movie on PS2

"The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie," released for a variety of systems including PlayStation 2 in 2005, is based on the movie of the same name. SpongeBob has many attacks at his disposal, such as the Sonic Wave Guitar. The Sonic Wave Guitar can be used to view the positions of enemies in a level, in addition to smashing holes in walls to find items. However, SpongeBob does not start out with the Sonic Wave Guitar. You must complete the pre-requisites for the guitar before you can use it.

Instructions

  Collect 40 Goofy Goober tokens. You earn one Goofy Goober token for each task completed. Every level has a varying number of tasks to complete, totaling 68 tasks in all. The instructions for each task are displayed on screen when you receive them.

  Select Mission 16, "Welcome to Planltopolis ... Minions," from the level select screen.

  Apprach the blue light in the center of starting area. A treasure chest appears if 40 Goofy Goober tokens have been collected.

  Touch the treasure chest to unlock the contents within -- the Sonic Wave Guitar.
- 5
  Press "R1" to activate the Sonic Wave Guitar. SpongeBob plays a powerful sonic note that can be used to smash walls.
