How to Do Uber Tricks on SSX Tricky for PS2

"SSX Tricky," a snowboarding game released on the PlayStation 2 in 2001, introduced the concept of uber tricks to the series. An uber trick is an over-the-top trick that allows your character to net a large amount of points. There are two types of uber tricks: general uber tricks that every character can perform, and character-specific uber tricks. Knowing how to do each type of uber trick can get you one step closer to a gold medal on each course.

Instructions

  Press and hold "X" to crouch on your board at the bottom of any ramp.

  Release "X" at the top of the ramp to jump into the air.

  Perform tricks in the air by pressing any combination of the PlayStation 2's shoulder buttons: "R1," "R2," "L1" and "L2." For each trick you complete successfully, the bar on the right side of the screen increases. When the circle at the top of the bar is full, your character can perform uber tricks.

  Press one of the shoulder buttons and "Square" simultaneously in the air to perform a basic uber trick. Each character has four general uber tricks, with each one corresponding to a different shoulder button.

  Press and hold "L1" and "L2" simultaneously in the air to perform the character-specific uber trick for Elise, Zoe or Brodi. For all other characters, press and hold "R1" and "R2." A character-specific uber trick is an uber trick only that character can perform, netting the largest amount of points possible. However, it can only be done when those characters are on their preferred board type.
