Defeat
Defeat Nappa using Goku in Z Battle Gate to unlock Nappa as a playable character. Beat Kid Buu at Z Battle Gate using Goku. Use Ssj Gotenks to beat Super Buu in Z Battle Gate to unlock Gotenks. To unlock Saibaman, defeat him with Krillin. Claim victory over Cell Jr. using Super Saiyan Teen Gohan to get Cell Jr. as a playable character. Beat Guldo in Z Battle Gate to unlock him; you must use Chaozu. To get Dabura, use Gohan to fight and defeat him in the Z Battle Gate. Beat Monster Zarbon with Vegeta to unlock Monster Zarbon as a playable character. For Frieza 3rd, defeat him with Vegeta in Z Battle Gate.
Fuse
You can unlock new playable characters by fusing together two purple potaras. Enter the Evolution Z mode and choose Item Fusion. Select Purple Fusions from the list of options; you can now fuse potaras. Fuse Super Saiyan and Vegito to unlock Super Vegito. For Janemba Psyche, fuse Orge with Peoples Maliciousness. Fuse one Android 17 with another to unlock the character Super 17. To get Baby Vegeta, fuse Tuffles and Artificial Bruits Waves together. A fusion between Kakarot and Hatred of Saiyans unlocks the character Bardock.
Wish
Once you have collected seven dragon balls when playing Battle gate mode, you can make a wish. The good news is that there is a trick to acquiring these balls quickly and easily. Set up a battle between Gotenks SSJ 3 and Super Buu. When the fight starts, smash the temple in the center of the stage and pick up the dragon ball that appears. Keep repeating this fight until you have all of seven of the balls. You have two options for your wish; you can unlock Password mode or True World Tournament mode.
Quit
There is a cheat you can use that saves your points when you lose in a battle, and only works on Ultimate Battle mode. If you are losing a game and don't believe you can overcome your opponent, pause and choose Return to Main Menu. You will lose the fight but your points will be unaltered.
