How Do I Beat Baraka From Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks?

Baraka is an enemy boss in "Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks" and is encountered at the end of the "Soul Tombs" level. Baraka can be highly defensive and will change his strategy to attack you throughout the battle, making him tough to defeat. Baraka will retreat after you reduce his health by half and begin to throw monks who are on fire at you. You must impale him with two swords in order to defeat him and gain access to the Wu-Shi Academy.

Instructions

    • 1

Use launch attacks by pressing the "triangle" button when you first encounter Baraka; do not worry about blocking. This will keep Baraka in the air and unable to attack you while you drain his health.

    • 2

Use projectile attacks, such as fireballs, against the monks when Baraka retreats and begins throwing them at you. This will allow you to dispatch the monks from a safe distance.

    • 3

Use the "L2" button to block Baraka's projectile attacks when he comes back to fight you after throwing the monks. Pick up the swords on the ground by pressing the "R2" button between Baraka's projectile attacks. Be sure to keep a safe distance from Baraka when you pick up the swords, as he will knock them out of your hands if he gets close to you.

    • 4

Attack Baraka with quick attacks using the "square" button after you pick up the swords. This will initiate a "Test Your Might" encounter. Win the encounter by pressing the "X" button as fast as you can. This will cause Baraka to stagger.

    • 5

Launch the swords you picked up off the ground at Baraka by pressing the "R2" button immediately after winning the Test Your Might encounter. This will impale Baraka and give you the option of performing a fatality on him. Approach Baraka to initiate the fatality and finish him off by inputting the button sequence that appears on your screen.
