How to Fix a NAND on a PS3

Specific hardware on video game consoles such as the PlayStation 3 can be easily affected by software and firmware updates. NAND flash memory is able to keep data from a previous session on the PS3 even when the power has been turned off. NAND flash is a critical component in the system, and the PS3 will not function properly if it is corrupted or damaged. A system restore will fix the NAND on a PS3.

Attach the PS3's USB cable to your computer. Find your PS3 directory. Perform a system backup of your PS3 game information so you do not lose any game saves when trying to repair the NAND.
