Instructions
Turn on the PS3 system and scroll over to the "Settings" section of the XrossMediaBar (XMB). Scroll down to the "Network Settings" option and press the "X" button. Scroll down to the "Media Server Connection" option and press the "X" button. Highlight the "Enable" option and press the "X" button to enable media server connections on the PS3 system. With the media server connection enabled, turn off the PS3 system.
Click the "Start" button on the Windows computer, followed by the "All Programs" option. Click the "Windows Media Player" option to launch the program.
Click the "Stream" menu and place a check mark next to the "Automatically Allow Devices to Play My Media" option. Click the "Turn On Media Streaming..." option. Click the "Turn on media streaming" button, followed by the "OK" button.
Turn on the PS3 system. Click the "Start" button on the Windows computer and select the "Control Panel" option. Click the "Network and Sharing Center" option, followed by the "Change Advanced Sharing Settings" link.
Select the "Turn on file and printer sharing" option beneath the "File and Printer Sharing" heading. Click the "Save Changes" button to save the changes.
Click the "Change Advanced Sharing Settings" link a second time, followed by the "Choose media streaming options..." link beneath the "Media Streaming" heading.
Click the arrow to the right of the "Show Devices On" heading and select the "All Networks" option from the drop-down menu. The PS3 system will now show up as an unknown device on the Windows network.
