Instructions
Connect your PS3 gaming console directly to a TV if the images are distorted or appear lighter or darker. This problem may occur if your gaming console is connected to a VCR, or a combination TV/VCR unit.
Check the cable connections between the gaming console and the TV if you can't see images. If you're using an HDMI for hi-definition output, connect one end of the cable into the HDMI port on your game, then connect the other end into an open HDMI port on your TV. Press the "Input" button on your remote control to select the input channel your system is connected to.
Check the Blu-ray disc's compatibility and system requirement information on its cover if the disc isn't playing. If the disc doesn't match the region code set in the PS3's system, it won't play. For example, discs labeled as "Region 1" can only play on American PS3 systems.
Enter your parental control password in the Security Settings section on your gaming console's XMB menu if you see a parental warning when trying to play certain discs. Increase the parental control level to play discs preset with parental control restrictions.
Enter the Blu-ray disc's password if it's locked and unable to play. If the disc is a personal movie that was configured with a password when it was created, you must enter it to unlock it.
Clean the Blu-ray disc with a soft, clean cloth if it pauses momentarily during playback.
