How to Get a PS3 to Recognize and Work Properly With a 3-D TV

Through the use of firmware updates, Sony is constantly adding features to the PlayStation 3 system. One such feature that was added after the system's release is the system's ability to connect to and play content on a 3-D high-definition TV. Once the PS3 system is connected to a 3-D enabled HDTV, you can configure the system to work with the TV through the system's Settings menu.

Instructions

      Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on the back of the PS3 system. Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on the back of the 3-D HDTV.

      Turn on the 3-D HDTV and press the power button on the front of the PS3 system.

      Scroll over to highlight the "Settings" section of the XrossMediaBar. Scroll down to the "Display Settings" option and press the "X" button.

      Scroll down to the "Video Output Settings" option and press the "X" button. Highlight the "HDMI" option and press the "X" button.

      Highlight the "Automatic" option and press "X." When asked whether or not you can see the screen, select the "Yes" option.

      Highlight the size of the TV in inches when prompted on the Your TV Supports the Viewing of 3D Content screen and press the "X" button.

      Press the "X" button to save your settings.
