How to Hook Up a PS2 to a Proview LCD TV

The process of hooking up a Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) to a Proview LCD TV is no different from the process of hooking up the PS2 to another TV brand. Be advised, however, that while many Proview LCD televisions support a high-definition connection, PS2 games do not support HD resolution. Therefore, the PS2 must be connected to the Proview TV using a standard AV connection. The PS2 comes with a special "AV multi cable" which allows you to make this connection.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the single plug end of the AV multi cable into the AV Multi Out jack located on the rear panel of the PS2 console.

    • 2

Locate the yellow, white and red AV input jacks on the side or back of the Proview TV. Insert the red plug, on the other end of the AV multi cable, into the TV's yellow "Video" input jack. Insert the white plug into the TV's white "Audio L" input jack. Insert the red plug into the TV's red "Audio R" input jack.

    • 3

Plug the female end of the AC power cord, which came with the PS2, into the AC power adapter. Connect the AC power adapter to the DC power jack on the back of the PS2 console. Plug the other end of the AC power cord into an electrical outlet.

    • 4

Turn on the TV. Press the power button located on the far right side of the PS2's front panel to turn the console on.

    • 5

Continuously press the "Source" button on the front panel of the TV. Stop when the TV's video input channel is set to the appropriate AV video source. You know you are on the right channel when you see the PS2 start screen. Alternatively, you can also use the "Source" button on the TV's remote control to set the TV's video input channel to the proper AV video source.

Plug the cable connected to the PS2 controller into one of the controller ports on the front panel of the PS2 console. The PS2 is now completely hooked up.
