How to Install Kmeaw CFW on Fat PS3 With 355

Installing custom firmware on the Sony PlayStation 3 system is the same process as installing official firmware on the PS3. The only difference is that you must use the external storage method and cannot use the Wi-Fi updating method. Kmeaw's custom firmware can be installed on PS3s running firmware 3.55.

  Download the patched Kmeaw custom firmware installation PUP file from the developer's website (see Resources). Insert a USB flash drive into the computer.

  Click the "Open folder to view files" option from the AutoRun window. The folders and files on the USB flash drive come up. Open the "PS3" folder on the flash drive.

  Right-click the Kmeaw CFW PUP file and click "Copy" from the context menu. Right-click the "UPDATE" folder on the USB flash drive and click "Paste."

  Unplug the USB flash drive from the computer and insert it into the PS3's USB port.

  Select "System Update" from the PS3 menu and select "Update via Storage Media." The PS3 searches the flash drive.

  Select the Kmeaw CFW option and the PS3 installs the CFW. The PS3 will reboot. When the PS3 turns back on, the procedure is complete.
