How to Set Up Nat 2 on PS3 Netgear

The NAT 2 setting on your PlayStation 3 changes the server status to "Open." This allows you to communicate with friends on the PlayStation Network as well as easily join a range of online games without connection problems. To get your NAT type set to "Open," you must enable "Universal Plug" and "Play" on your Netgear router. This can be done by accessing your router settings on your computer.

      Open your Internet browser. Click on the address bar and enter "192.168.1.1."

      Enter your Username and Password. Click on the "Log In" button.

      Click on the "Advanced" menu. Select "UPnP."

      Click on the "Enable UPnP" button. Click "Apply" to confirm the changes.

      Turn off your PlayStation 3 and your Netgear router. Wait 30 seconds and turn on both of them. Your PS3 will now connect to the PlayStation Network and will have the NAT set up as "Type 2."
