How to Hook a PS3 to a Toshiba TV With a Built-in VCR

The PlayStation 3, also known as the PS3, made by Sony, is a gaming system that does more then play video games. With a PS3 console, you can watch DVD and BluRay movies, download movies from companies like Netflix and even play your favorite CD. If you are connecting your PS3 to a Toshiba TV with a built in VCR you will need to use the yellow composite video plug. Using this cable will not allow you to watch BluRay or HD DVDs because your television won't be able to support the signal, but you will still be able to play your favorite video games.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the A/V cable that comes with the PS3 unit to the slot on the back of the PS3 labelled "AV Multi Out" by inserting the flat end of the cable into the slot.

    • 2

Locate the composite input on the back of the Toshiba TV/VCR combo labeled "AV IN." There will be three separate inputs, one white, one red and one yellow.

    • 3

Connect the PS3 to the Toshiba TV/VCR by inserting the plugs at the end of the A/V cable connected to the PS3 into the three inputs on the TV/VCR. Match the white plug on the cable with the white input, the red plug with the red input, and the yellow video plug with the yellow input.
