Many PlayStation 3 games are patched constantly to keep players from cheating and ensure all features work properly. These patches sometimes take up many gigabytes of data on your PS3 hard drive. If you are running out of space, one solution is to delete patches for games you no longer play. This frees up a lot of space on your hard drive for information you actually use.

Move the "Game" tab on the XMB, the PS3's main menu.

Move up to "Game Data Utility." Press "X" to enter it.

Press "Triangle" on any game you want to delete. Press "X" on "Delete" on the menu that appears.
