Things You'll Need
Instructions
Connect one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your DUALSHOCK wireless controller, and then connect the other end into an open USB port on your PS3 system if the controller's battery is dead. Leave the controller until it charges.
Press the buttons on the controller to see if they are working once the charging completes.
Press the "PS" button to assign a controller number if the buttons aren't working. With the controller connected to the system, a controller number is automatically assigned to your controller. A solid red light appears next to the port number on your controller.
Press the buttons on your controller to test your device. If the buttons work, continue with normal use.
Press the "Reset" button on your controller if it's behaving abnormally.
