How to Link a PS3 to a Mac

To link and sync a PlayStation 3 console to a computer, the two devices must have similar networking standards. Since PS3 is compatible with only Windows-based operating systems, you will need the MediaLink programMediaLink is a networking program that transmits signals between your Mac and PS3 to allow users to stream and share audio, video and pictures between your PS3 console and Mac computer.

      Download and install the MediaLink program. Once you have completed the installation, restart your Mac computer to activate the MediaLink features.

      Click on the "Apple" logo in the top-left corner of the screen and select "System Preferences" from the drop-down menu.

      Click on the MediaLink logo in the "Internet and Wireless" section of the "System Preferences" window.

      Press the "Sources" tab and place a checkmark in the box next to the iTunes and iPhotos folders. By selecting the folders, you can sync your music and photos from your Mac computer and your PS3 console.

      Turn on your PS3 console and scroll to the "Music," "Photos" or "Video" icons on the XMB menu. Scroll down within each sub-menu and select the "Search for Media Servers" option. If your PS3 and Mac are connected to the same wireless Internet, the two devices should now be linked.
