Elements of social networking are also available through the PlayStation Network that allows people to connect to each other for various activities.
Television and Movies
The PlayStation 3 allows users to watch various television shows and movies at any time on their own television. Netflix is available as a downloadable service that allows users to either stream a selection from their catalog instantly or order a home delivery. Catch Up TV is a service that allows viewers to freely stream various broadcast programs. Only select channels and shows are available. This service has been formatted to fit the PlayStation 3. Users can get together with friends or causally view a movie at any time in their own home without the need for a DVD player.
Social Gaming
Social gaming is a new type of video gaming that allows players to take part in group or party games. Titles such as "Dance on Broadway" and "Rock Band," or sports titles such as "FIFA '11," allow players to get together in large groups during gaming. Accessories such as the PlayStation Move allows players to take part in motion capture games that allow you to act as the controller and mimic the motions needed to complete the game. More titles are continually being released for the PlayStation Move controller.
