How to Make the PS3 Slim Media Expansion Bar Work

The Media Expansion Bar for the PlayStation 3 Slim provides additional connection and media ports for your game console. The device derives its power from the console and does not require additional software for your PS3 to activate the functions of the expansion bar. The device is designed specifically for the PS3 Slim and will connect properly with other versions of the console.

  Turn off the PS3 console before installing the Media Expansion Bar.

  Align the USB connector of the Media Expansion Bar with the USB port on the front of the PS3 Slim. Press the Media Expansion Bar into the USB port and the device will clip onto the front end of the console.

  Turn on your PS3 and it will immediately recognize the connection to the Media Expansion Bar. Insert a USB drive or other media card into the slots on the media bar. Turn on the PS3 and scroll to the "Movies," "Music" or "Photos" option in the menu. Press "Triangle" and highlight "Display All." Press "X" to display the contents from the media bar on your PS3.
