How Can You Tell the Gigabit of a PS3?

Regardless of which generation PlayStation 3 you own, the hard drive space is measured in gigabytes. While knowing the amount of space your hard drive can hold isn't vital to operating the system, it does tell you if you have enough space to save files to your console. Fortunately, viewing the size of your PlayStation 3 hard drive requires you to simply turn on the system and access the console settings.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the PlayStation 3 console and the PlayStation 3 controller.

    • 2

Select the profile you wish to sign in with and press "X" on your controller. After signing in, flick the analog stick left to "Settings."

    • 3

Move down and click "System Settings" at the bottom of the "Settings" menu. Click "System Information," which is just above "About PlayStation 3."

    • 4

Look at "Free Space." You will see "XX/ZZ" where "XX" is the amount of free space you have available, and "ZZ" is your PlayStation 3's total hard drive capacity.
