How to Get a PlayStation 3 Controller to Work on a Nintendo 64 Emulator

The classic PlayStation controller has been around since the mid 1990s. The PlayStation 3 controller is a copy of the original PS1 controller with two analog buttons. The PS3 controller can be used with computer games and computer emulators, such as a Nintendo 64 emulator.

      Download the PS3 controller drivers for Windows from the developer's website.

      Plug the PS3 controller into the computer with its mini USB cable.

      Install the PS3 controller driver on the computer. Click "Install" to verify that you want to install the driver.

      Open the DS3 Tool program on the computer. DS3 Tool was installed with the PS3 controller driver.

      Click "Load" to set the driver.

      Open the Nintendo 64 emulator. Click the "Options" button, and click "Configure Controller Plugin." A list of N64 controller buttons appears.

      Click each button and press the corresponding button on the PS3 controller that you want to use as that N64 button. Complete the entire set of buttons and the PS3 controller is set to use with your N64 games.
