How to Install the AVCHD Folder on a PS3

An AVCHD folder is a folder that contains the video file of an HD-DVD. This is comparable to the TS folder of a regular DVD. If you would like to install an AVCHD folder onto your PlayStation 3, you can do it with little hassle. Transferring media from your computer to the PS3 is made possible because of the USB ports on the front of the console. Once you plug your USB drive into the console, you will be able to copy and transfer your files.

External hard drive or flash drive

  Connect an external hard drive or a flash drive to your computer̵7;s USB port.

  Click the ̶0;Start̶1; button and then click on the ̶0;Computer̶1; icon.

  Click on the external hard drive̵7;s icon to open the window.

  Locate your AVCHD folder on your computer and then drag it to the external hard drive̵7;s window.

  Wait for the folder to transfer and then eject the external hard drive from your computer.

  Plug the USB cable into the USB port on the front of your PS3.

  Scroll through the home screen to the ̶0;Video̶1; icon and press the ̶0;X̶1; button.

  Scroll down to your external hard drive and click on it. Scroll to the ̶0;AVCHD̶1; folder and press the ̶0;Triangle̶1; button.

  Click the ̶0;Copy̶1; button to copy the folder to your PS3 console.
