How to Reset Your PS3 From an HDMI to an AV

When you first hook up a PlayStation 3 to your television, the console automatically detects audio and video settings. If you need to switch televisions or cables, you'll need to reset these settings. Because changing cables can cause a blank screen, it may be impossible to manually change your video settings. Sony incorporated an intuitive feature that troubleshoots this common problem. If you need to switch to a standard audio/video cable from HDMI, use this simple fix to make the process quick and easy.

Things You'll Need

    • 5

Hold down the power button for five seconds until you hear a double-beep. Your console will now reset itself and detect the current audio/video hookups. Confirm the settings on the screen.
