How to Configure PS3 for Wireless

Most models of Playstation 3 shipped with a built-in wireless network adapter, letting you surf the Internet and access media shared on computers on your home network. The wireless adapter is disabled by default, though. If you want to connect to a wireless network with your PS3, you have to configure the wireless connection first.

  Go to the "Settings" column of the PS3 main menu.

  Scroll down to "Network Settings" and press "X."

  Select "Easy" from the list that comes up.

  Select "Wireless."

  Select "Scan" to scan for nearby wireless networks.

  Select your wireless network from the list.

  Select the type of security the wireless network is using. If you're unsure, contact the person who set up your wireless network.

  Highlight the text box on the next screen and press "X" to bring up the on-screen keyboard. Enter the network password and press "Start." The PS3 then connects to the network and tests the connection. Once this is finished, your PS3's wireless connection is ready to go.
