How to Transfer Game Saves to My PS3 Using a Flash Drive

The PlayStation 3 saves game data to the PlayStation's internal hard drive. If you want to use your saved data on another PlayStation 3, then you can use the saved game utility that Sony created to help with just such a problem. This utility allows you to back up and copy your game data. You can use any USB storage device, such as an external hard drive or a flash drive.

Instructions

Transfer to a Flash Drive

  Turn on the PlayStation 3. Insert the flash drive.

  Go to "Game" and then "Saved Game Utility."

  Go to the saved game you want to copy and press the "Triangle" button.

  Select "Copy."

  Select the flash drive as the destination.
