How to Share Music With a PS3

The PlayStation 3 is a home video game console that functions as a multimedia entertainment center. Besides playing video games PS3 owners can surf the web, watch Blu-Rays, share photos and listen to and share music. Listening to and sharing music with the PlayStation 3 is part of having the complete PS3 experience and it's easy to do.

Instructions

  1. Removing Music

    • 1

      Insert the USB memory stick into the USB port of a computer.

      Select the music file on the computer to be shared with the PlayStation 3. This file is typically located in the "Documents," "Music," or "Downloads" folder.

      Open the USB memory stick folder by double clicking the memory card icon. Typically the folder will open automatically. If it does not the memory card icon can be found by clicking "My Computer." The USB card's icon will be found under the "Drives" tab.

      Drag the music file into the USB memory by clicking the file and pulling it into the memory stick's folder. Or right click the file and click "Copy" then right click inside of the memory stick's folder and click "Paste."

      Right click the USB memory icon and select "eject." Wait until ejection is confirmed.

    Adding Music

      Insert the USB memory stick into the USB slot on the PS3.

      Toggle to the "Memory" icon from the home screen. Scroll up to the USB memory stick icon.

      Press the triangle button. Select view all files.

    • 9

      Select the desired music file and select open. The music will play.
