How Do I Connect to a Wireless Router Network With a PS3?

In addition to simply playing video games, the Sony PS3 home video game console can also connect to the network that is being broadcast by a wireless router and use that to connect to the Internet. Once online, your PS3 can download additional content for your favorite games or allow you to engage in online multiplayer competitions. If you want to connect to a wireless router network with your PS3, use the PS3's main menu.

      Turn on your Sony PS3.

      Select the "Settings" option from the PS3's main menu.

      Select the "Network Settings" option from the PS3's "Settings" menu.

      Select "Internet Connection Settings." Select the "Easy" option, then the "Wireless" option, then the "Scan" option.

      Highlight the listing for the wireless network that is being created by your wireless router. If you have put a password on your wireless router network, you'll have to enter that password using the PS3's controller. Once you've done that, select "Save Settings" to save all the changes you've made. You will now be able to get online with your PlayStation 3 via your wireless router network.
