Wireless Setup
Launch your web browser on a computer currently connected to your FiOS in-home network. In your browser's address bar, type in "192.168.1.1" without quotes and press enter.
Log into your router using your pre-established username and password. If this is your first time logging into the router, the username will be "admin" and the password field should be left blank.
Click the "Wireless Settings" option. Then click "Basic Security Settings." Set the SSID (or simply the broadcast "name") of your network to something easily identifiable.
Click the WEP button to activate WEP security. Set the WEP to something you can easily remember as you will need it to properly network your PS3. Leave the rest of the settings intact.
Power on your Playstation and navigate the XMB to "Settings," then "Network Settings," and finally "Internet Connection Settings." Select "Easy" when presented with the Internet Connection Settings wizard.
Select the "Wireless" option and then select "Scan." After a moment, select your SSID from the list presented. Under "Security Settings," choose "WEP" and enter the key that you set earlier. When prompted, click "Test Settings," and wait for the test to complete.
Wired Setup
Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into a free LAN port on the rear of the router. Plug the other end into the Ethernet jack on the rear of the PS3.
Navigate your XMB to "Settings" and then "Network Settings." Select "Test Internet Settings."
Use the integrated web browser or try in-game multi-player to verify the speed and integrity of your connection.
