Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a 2.5 inch SATA notebook hard disk. This will replace the current, smaller hard disk in your PS3. 5400- and 7200-rpm drives will work.

    • 2

Back up any important files on your PS3. You can use a flash drive or an external hard drive formatted in FAT32.

    • 3

Turn off and unplug the PS3.

    • 4

Remove the plastic HD side panel from the PS3.

    • 5

      Remove the large blue screw.

    • 6

Open the latch and remove the hard disk.

    • 7

Detach the hard disk from the tray by removing the four screws.

    • 8

Attach the new hard disk to the tray and reinsert it into the PS3.

    • 9

Screw the blue screw back into place and reattach the plastic side panel.
