How to Get Zorlin Shape on Final Fantasy IX

Though it's still a beneficial weapon on its own, the Zorlin Shape is also a key element in creating some powerful weapons in "Final Fantasy IX." Along with its 42-point attack boost, the Zorlin Shape can teach Zidane the Flee ability, a useful skill for escaping tough battles. Later in the game, you can synthesize the Zorlin Shape to create the Sargatanas and the Masamune, two of Zidane's strongest weapons.

The Zorlin Shape is a relatively elusive weapon, as you can only purchase it at three different towns in the game. After you progress the game's plot beyond the third town, your opportunity to obtain the Zorlin Shape is gone forever.

  Progress through the game's plot until you've completed the Desert Palace. After you've emerged, your party will go to the town of Esto Gaza. The Zorlin Shape will be available at the equipment shop here for the first time in the game.

  Advance the plot to the town of Daguerreo. Your second opportunity to purchase the Zorlin Shape is in the weaponsmith's shop. To gain access to the shop, you must repair the lift. To fix it, take the left path from the town entrance. You will be in a room with three levers. Pull the left lever twice to get the lift on the ground. Examine the hole in the wall, then examine the pole lying on the ground nearby. Pull the right lever twice and you'll be able to ride up to the weaponsmith.

  Stop at Moorock's Mogshop when the game plot progresses to Bran Bal. Find Moorock by going north from the inn and through the doorway. Head right twice and you'll be in the Mogshop. Free Moorock by opening the vase, and he will now sell you weapons. This is your last chance to get the Zorlin Shape.
