My PSP Won't Read a Memory Card

If your Sony PSP game system won't read your memory card, it likely means that your memory card hasn't been properly formatted yet. Your PSP memory card uses a unique file system that most memory cards do not come with already installed. In order to correct this issue, you need to format your memory card using your PSP, which will install the proper file system and allow the devices to coexist peacefully.

     Turn on your PSP using its "Power" switch.

     Select "Settings" from your PSP's menu.

     Choose "System Settings."

     Select "Format Memory Stick." Press the "X" button two times (once to select the "Format Memory Stick" option and once to confirm your actions). The PSP will format the memory stick, at which point you will be able to use it to save and access content as normal.
