How Do I Copy My UMD Game Onto a Hard Drive?

The Sony PSP portable video game system uses UMDs (Universal Media Discs) to house its game data. This proprietary format is used only with the PSP, so if you want to get data off the discs, it has to come through the PSP itself. This is possible if your PSP has been modified to run unofficial games and firmware. The M33 custom firmware for the system allows UMD data to be ripped directly to your computer.

Things You'll Need

  • PSP modified with M33 custom firmware

Load the UMD into your PSP and turn on the system.

Drag the "ISO" file inside your PSP game's drive onto your computer's desktop. The entire disc data will be copied to your computer's hard drive.
