How to Download Skype Onto Your PSP

The Sony PSP hand-held console has a built-in Wi-Fi adapter that allows it to pick up Internet signals, and thus makes it a candidate for Skype--the over-the-Internet phone service. Specifically, Skype works on the PSP-2000 and PSP-3000 models. The firmware upgrade 3.90 installs the program to your console, so nothing extra is needed--apart from a Wi-Fi connection. A firmware update after 3.90 should also allow you to install Skype.

     Install the 3.90 firmware update by going to "Settings," and then "System Update."

     Turn the system on and select the "Wi-Fi" Internet connection.

     Select the PSP "Home" button.

     Click the "Skype" logo under the "Network" tab to open the program.
