Things You'll Need
Instructions
Turn off your PSP and remove the battery from the rear of the unit.
Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws in the interior of the battery compartment, the two screws on the sides of the back of the PSP, and the single screw on the bottom.
Grip the front plastic faceplate at the seams and gently pull it off to expose the LCD screen and sides of the green circuit board.
Use the tip of your screwdriver to pop the rectangular button bar up (located directly under the screen) and then gently remove it from the unit.
Use the tip of your screwdriver to pop each of the four metal tabs on the corners of the LCD screen up.
Lift the LCD screen straight up and unplug the orange screen connector ribbon from its port on the green circuit board. You will now see an orange rectangle containing two holes located on the top of the circuit board. Directly under the first hole is the backlight fuse.
Use your soldering iron to add a dab of solder to the top of the fuse. This will bridge the connection. Wait a moment or two for the solder to cool.
Reassemble your PSP in the reverse order you took it apart and your screen should now work.
