Charge the console completely using the included wall adapter before each use. Check the charge level by noting the number of bars filling the battery icon at the top-right corner of the home menu or by selecting "Settings," "System Settings" and choosing "Battery Information."
Press the "Display" button on the front of the console to set the screen brightness to a lower setting. The button has an image of a rounded square on it and may need to be pressed multiple times to reach the lowest setting.
Flip the WLAN switch on the top or left side of the console to the "Off" position. The location of the WLAN switch varies depending on your PSP model.
Lower the console's volume to help make the battery last longer. The volume buttons are located on the front of the console near the screen or the top of the console depending on your PSP model.
Play games and watch movies downloaded to a Memory Stick to conserve on energy. Playing UMD games and movies drains more power than reading from a Memory Stick. Games and movies can be purchased through the PlayStation Store on your PSP (PSN account required).
Push the power switch up and release it immediately without holding it to put the console into a power-saving sleep mode instead of letting the console idle when you pause play. Be careful̵1;holding the power switch shuts off the console completely.
