How to Replace Cases for PSP Disks

If your UMD discs show no signs of damage but refuse to play in your or any other PSP, you may think you need to replace the game, but you don't; you most likely just need to replace the plastic UMD casing. You can find replacement UMD cases at some video game retail shops or online. Once you have the replacement cases in hand, switching the disc out from old case and installing it in the new one can be done in three simple steps

Things You'll Need

  • Replacement UMD case
  • Lint-free cloth

Instructions

    • 1

Grip the UMD case by the edges and wedge your fingernail between the two halves and pry them apart.

    • 2

Remove the disc from the UMD case taking care not to touch the data-side of the disc. If you do, wipe the disc clean with the lint-free cloth. Set the disc aside.

    • 3

Pull apart the replacement UMD case and place the disc in it with the data side facing the windowed half. Press the two halves of the case back together until they snap in place.
