Things You'll Need
Instructions
Check to make sure that your PSP has the latest version of the system software. To do this, go to "System Settings" on your PSP, then choose "System Information." See the latest version of the software and update your PSP by going to the PSP support page online.
Ensure that the music you wish to transfer is in one of the following formats: MP3, WAV or WMA.
Connect your PSP to your computer using a USB cable. Insert one end of the cable into the PSP, and the other end into a free USB port on your computer. If your computer doesn't recognize the PSP automatically, activate the USB connection by selecting "USB Connection" from the PSP's main menu.
Double-click on the PSP removable drive. Look for the "Music" folder and double-click on it to view its contents. If there is no "Music" folder, right-click on a blank space inside the main PSP directory folder and choose "Create New Folder," then name the folder "MUSIC." Use all capital letters so the PSP will recognize the new folder.
Locate the music files that you want to copy to your PSP. Click on one of the files, then press "Ctrl" and hold it down while you click on the rest of the songs. Once you have all of the songs highlighted, release the "Ctrl" button and right-click on any of the highlighted songs. Click on "Copy."
Open the "Music" folder that you created within the main PSP folder, and right-click on a blank space inside that window. Click on "Paste," and wait for the songs to finish transferring into that folder.
