How to Bypass the Parental Control Password on a PSP

The PSP (PlayStation Portable) has parental controls. If you cannot find out the password from the previous owner, you'll need to restore your system to bypass the parental control password. Without restoring the system, you'll be unable to play games rated "Mature" (or whatever limit the previous owner set). In addition, you may have restrictions when browsing the Internet.

Instructions

  Select the "Settings" (Suitcase) icon from your home screen. Scroll over and select "System Settings" (Keyhole).

  Select "Restore Default Settings." Wait for your PSP to restart.

  Enter the default parental control password "0000" when attempting to view or play "restricted" content or games.

  Turn the parental controls feature off, if desired. To turn it off, select "Settings" from your home menu, select "Security Settings." Select "Parental Controls," and enter the code "0000." Select "Off" under the tab labeled "Parental Controls."
