How to Hook a PS2 Memory Card to a USB Hub

The Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) is one of the most popular video game systems released on the U.S. market. Although the system is designed to function like a streamlined computer, it is typically not compatible with a computer system. However, with the proper adapters you can connect just about any aspect of the PS2 to a computer, including to the memory card.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the USB hub to a USB port on your computer. The hub is designed to give you additional USB drives on the computer.

    • 2

Plug the PlayStation 2 memory card into the USB memory adapter. This adapter allows you to connect the memory card directly into a USB port on your computer.

    • 3

Connect the USB adapter to one of the available ports on the USB hub. Your computer is going to read the card and state it has detected a new piece of removable memory.

    • 4

Open "My Computer" (or "Computer" in Windows Vista and 7) and double-click the removable memory icon. Although you can't actually run any of the information from the memory card on the computer, you can click and drag it onto your desktop or other folder. This allows you to backup all the information from your memory card. You can also attach the files to an email and email the save game information to a friend. If the friend has a USB memory card adapter, he can import your saved game information onto his card and, essentially, play the same game you are.
