How to Get a Sony PSP Emulator

A Sony PSP emulator allows you to play classic console games on your PC. Although emulation technology is far from perfect, you can play PSP games at reasonable speeds. If you're interested in giving a PSP emulator a shot, you're in luck, because they're free to download and fairly easy to install.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit an information site like the Emulator Zone and browse through the different PSP emulators. Check out user reviews and program specs to get a feel for which one will work best on your machine.

    • 2

Choose either the Potemkin or the PSPE emulator for the best results. These are the only two PSP emulators that are really worth trying, as the others lack performance and quality.

    • 3

Download and install the emulator to your hard drive. These usually come in executable or zip files that download quickly and are easy to run.

    • 4

Test the emulator with a PSP game file on your hard drive to make sure that it works. If there's a glaring error, it might be that the game itself contains flawed code (many games don't look or sound as good as their optical-disc originals.)

Remember that both the Potemkin and the PSPE emulators only play a handful of commercial games. These aren't blockbuster games either, as most of them are demos or updated versions of classics like Sudoku.
