How to Mod a PS3 Guitar to Work on XBox

The guitars that are made for games such as "Guitar Hero" and "Rockband" can only be used on one gaming console or the other. Unfortunately, you can not use a PS3 Guitar with an Xbox 360 without using a mod. As of August 2011, the only mod available for this purpose is the XCM Cross Fire Converter. Simply plug the converter into your Xbox 360, then plug your PS3 guitar into it to use the guitar with your Xbox 360.

Things You'll Need

XCM Cross Fire Converter
Wired PS3 guitar controller
Wired Xbox 360 controller

Instructions

  Plug the XCM Cross Fire Converter into your Xbox 360 via a USB port on the front of the console.

  Connect your Xbox 360 controller to the XCM Cross Fire Converter by plugging it into the front of the converter box. Wait for the light on the converter to stop flashing, then unplug it.

  Turn on your PS3 guitar controller, then plug it into the XCM Cross Fire Converter. The guitar controller will be connected to your Xbox 360 when the first-player light turns on.
