How to Hook an Aircard to a PS3

A Wi-Fi aircard is a personal mobile hotspot that can be taken anywhere you go. The device itself is a little bigger than a credit card, making it easy to carry in your pocket. With the introduction of much quicker 4G, mobile hotspot devices can be used to do much more than browse the Internet. Connecting a Sony PlayStation 3 to such a device allows gamers to go online and play games with their friends without worrying about wires and a home Internet connection.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the Wi-Fi aircard device next to the PlayStation 3 and hold down the "Power" button until the power LED light turns green.

    • 2

Turn on the PS3 and select the "Settings" heading. Select the "Network Settings" sub heading.

    • 3

Select "Internet Connection Settings" from the next screen. Select "Easy" on the Setting Method screen and "Wireless" on the Connection Method screen.

    • 4

Select "Scan" on the next screen and the PS3 will search for a Wi-Fi signal. Select the connection that has the same name as the aircard you are using. For example, a Verizon aircard will read "Verizon" or the model of the aircard you are using.

    • 5

Select "WEP" as the security settings and enter in the Wi-Fi key that is on the back of the aircard device.

    • 6

Select "Save Settings" from the next screen. Select "Test Connection" to verify the PS3 is connected to the Internet using the aircard.
