Recheck all of the AX720's hardware connections if you're experiencing audio issues with the headset. Start by ensuring that the microphone is locked in place on the headset. If there is play in the headset, realign the notch on the microphone with the groove on the headset's microphone port. Push the microphone firmly into the port and then rotate the microphone clockwise until it locks.
Ensure that the headphone's cable is securely seated into the port on the inline controller unit. Also, make sure that the inline controller unit's mute is disengaged and that the volume is raised. Slide the "Mute" button forward to disengage it.
Check the connection between the inline controller unit and the 720 amp. The inline controller unit's audio connector should be securely seated in either of the headphone ports on the front of the amp. Check the amp's display as well. If the display is off, check your power connections or press the "Power" button.
Check the optical and USB cable connection between the and your PS3 or computer. You must use both cables for digital setups on the PS3 or computer. If you're using a digital setup for your Xbox 360, make sure you're using both the USB and the live communicator link cable.
Check the software audio settings in your PS3 or Xbox's menu options. Visit the "Audio Device Settings" menu on your PS3, or select the "Voice" option from the "Personal Settings" menu on Xbox consoles. Ensure that the "C-Media USB" option is checked on your PS3 or that the "Mute" option is disabled on your Xbox.
Try resetting your AX720. Power down the unit. Press the plus ("+"), minus ("-") and "Power" buttons simultaneously to shut the unit down. Power the unit back up in the same manner, using the plus, minus and "Power" buttons again.
