Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove the screws on the back of the controller using a Phillips jeweler's screwdriver. Put the screws inside a plastic baggie and tie the end. This keeps the tiny screws together in one area to ensure they do not get misplaced.
Insert the flat-edged jeweler's screwdriver between the seams of the controller and gently wiggle it to create space between the two sides until the controller splits apart. Set the front controller shell aside and turn the back shell over so the electrical components are facing you.
Strip the red and black wires from the momentary switch using wire strippers. Locate the three contacts that are directly under the fire button on the controller circuit board. Solder the end of the red wire to the middle contact. Solder the black wire to the contact labeled "GRND" located at the top left corner of the circuit board.
Clean out the circuit board using compressed air. Wipe down the front shell using rubbing alcohol applied to a cotton swab.
Make a small hole in the lower right corner of the front shell using the portable drill. Place the momentary switch through the hole so the switch sticks out from the hole. Join the two shells of the controller together, insert and tighten the screws as they were.
Apply a dab of bonding glue to the back of the switch and place the switch on the lower corner of the front of the controller. Wait for the glue to set according to the directions on the glue's label. The momentary switch works as the rapid fire button.
