Installation Instructions on a Beatles Guitar

The Beatles: Rock Band, a rhythm-based video game, uses guitar-shaped controllers to play the guitar and bass parts of songs. Each guitar comes with a remote receiver called a dongle if playing on a Wii or PlayStation 3. Xbox guitars connect directly to the console. The Wii and PlayStation 3 receive the guitar signal though the dongle, connected to a USB port. Multiple controllers can connect to the console for full band game-play.

Instructions

  1. Connecting the dongle

    • 1

Insert the USB connector of the dongle into the port on the game console. The PlayStation 3 console's USB ports are located on the front. The ports are in back of the Wii.

    • 2

Make sure the LED on the dongle flashes when the console powers on. The light indicates power and readiness to link to the controller.

    • 3

Remove and reconnect the dongle to the USB port if the LED does not flash.

Connecting the dongle to the controller

    • 4

Press the connect button on the guitar controller. The Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 all follow the same procedure.

    • 5

The LED on the controller will flash while connecting and shine continuously once connected. Check the dongle connection if the LED continues to flash on the guitar controller.

    • 6

Change the controller batteries if the connection can't be established. A small charge can make the LED flash but be insufficient to fully power the controller.
