How to Remove a Rockband 2 Drum Pad

Rock Band was the first music simulation game to use a drum kit as a playable instrument controller, and the drum kits of further releases, Rock Band 2 and Rock Band 3, have improved the technology offered by the original game. The drum kit in Rock Band 2, however, can often become less sensitive to beats when it is hit too much, and you might miss notes on the game as a result. Removing the pad is an easy job.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug your drum kit from your game console and turn it upside down.

    • 2

Remove the six screws from the underside of the drum pad using a small Phillips head screwdriver. Put the screws in a safe place once you have removed them, as they are very small and be easily lost.

    • 3

Turn the drum kit back over, and carefully lift the pad off the drum kit. It is best to slowly pull it up, moving around the outside of the pad, so it comes straight off evenly, not on one side first.

    • 4

Stop pulling as soon as the pad is loose. It is connected to the drum kit by a thin wire, and pulling too hard or too far will break the wire. Now that you have removed the drum pad, you are free to make the repairs you need to make. Once you have finished, simply push the pad back on your drum kit and replace the screws.
