How to Fix a Pelican Xbox Controller

The Pelican Xbox 360 controller is a third-party-developed accessory for the Xbox 360 console system. The controller is made from cheaper materials, so the cost of the controller is cheaper than standard Microsoft-manufactured equipment; however, the controller is also much more prone to malfunction. Symptoms can include sticky buttons, lack of wireless signal or connectivity issues, and the controller not functioning. Fortunately, troubleshooting a Pelican Xbox 360 controller is exactly the same as troubleshooting a standard Microsoft Xbox 360 controller.

Instructions

  1. Configure Wireless Connection

    • 1

Power on your Xbox 360 console and press the "Connect" button located just beneath the disc tray. This prompts the system to search for a wireless controller signal.

    • 2

Power on the Pelican Xbox 360 controller by holding the "Xbox Guide" button in the center of the controller for about three seconds.

    • 3

Press the "Connect" button on the top of the controller. The controller should now sync with the console and function properly.

    Charge Battery

    • 4

Remove the battery pack from your controller.

    • 5

Insert the battery into the Xbox 360 Quick Charger Kit. The charging process will take somewhere between three and six hours. The power light on the Charger Kit will turn green when the battery has been fully charged.

    • 6

Remove the battery pack from the Charger Kit and place it back into the controller.

Clean the Inside of the Controller

    • 7

Remove the six screws from the back of the Pelican Xbox 360 controller with a Phillips screwdriver.

    • 8

      Open the controller casing.

    • 9

Use your can of compressed air to blow out the dirt and debris from the inside of the controller.

    • 10

Close the controller casing and replace the screws.
