General Combat Strategies: Conservation of Ammo
Conservation of ammo in this series is not as hard as in the previous titles because the nemeses frequently drop ammo after the player kills them. The game play for the fourth series has the addition of the knifing and kicking abilities of the protagonist. Both methods are used by players to conserve ammo for enemies, such as the bosses, that are harder to eliminate.
Choke Points and Positioning Techniques
With the abundant number of enemies present in "Resident Evil 4," correct positioning is a key element in successfully finishing the game. Some levels and areas of the game contains a lot of enemies, and looking for choke points and positioning the player opposite them is an ideal way to eliminate the enemies. Doorways are the best choke point positions, especially if there is only a single entrance to the hallway or to the room that the player is currently in. Corridors and narrow hallways can also be used for this purpose, but you must be extra careful in this case.
Dealing with Infested Ganados
As the player advances through the levels, he or she will start to combat the residents who are already infested by the Plagas. These enemies do not die easily, and once they take some bullets, their heads will sprout a monstrosity of a tentacle. Keep your distance from these fiends. This will be made easier due to the sound that the Ganados will make once the tentacle starts sprouting. The tentacles have an aversion to light; therefore, throwing out flash grenades will instantly kill the creatures that are within the blast's radius.
Cheat Codes for Costumes
The game has its own cheat codes, such as for changing the character's costumes. For example, by holding the "1" button and then pressing the "A" button, Leon will be presented wearing a jacket. Press the "A" Button while holding the "+" button to see Leon in his Raccoon Police Department uniform.
