How to Unlock Expert Staff Data on Mario Kart for Wii

Expert staff data in "Mario Kart" for the Wii are secret fast racing ghosts you unlock in the Time Trial mode. You must beat the regular ghost by about four seconds in a Time Trial race to get a chance to race the expert staff data ghost. Unlocking these ghosts will unlock other secret characters as well as racing karts that can be used in other parts of the game.

Instructions

  Press "Start" on the Time Trial racing mode and race a ghost on any track. The ghost you race against will travel straight forward down the track and won't veer off road at all.

  Stay about four seconds ahead of the ghost and do not fall off the track.

  Pass the finish line between four to seven seconds ahead of the ghost. If you made it in time, you will see the words "A Fast Staff Ghost Has Appeared." Go back to the time trial page and the new ghost will be available to race. It will run much faster than the Time Trial ghost and take extra short cuts.
