How to Unlock Games in Wii: Guinness World Records

In 2008, the Nintendo Wii Console and DS handheld system became the only systems to play host to the Guinness Book of World Records. In "Guinness World Records: The Video Game," Wii players use the Wiimote and nunchuk to complete a number of World Record challenges. The 36 minigames run the gamut of record events from something as grand as constructing the world's largest skyscraper to as bizarre as growing the world's longest toenails. However, players don't have access to all of the games from the onset; many must be unlocked through game play in order to be enjoyed.

Instructions

    • 1

Pick a location by hovering the cursor over it and clicking "A." There are several locations set across the game's world map, each hosting three minigames each.

    • 2

Position the cursor on the free minigame on that location and hit the "A" button. Every location has three games: one open, one unlocked at 1,000 points and one unlocked at 5,000.

    • 3

Play the free minigame and obtain 1,000 or more points. The better you score in the game, the more points you'll receive. Breaking the world record will often earn you more than 1,000 points.

    • 4

Return to the event selection screen on that location using the "-" button.

    • 5

Hover the cursor over the locked 1,000-point game, and click "A" to unlock it. With the second game unlocked, you can play between the two games in order to accrue the points needed to unlock the 5,000-point third game for that location.

    • 6

Once you have the 5,000 points, return to the event selection menu with the "-" button.

    • 7

Click "A" on the 5,000 point game to unlock it. All three games on that location are now available for all gameplay modes.

    • 8

Return to the world map with the "-" button.

    • 9

Move the cursor to a new location, press "A" and repeat steps one through five. There are twelve locations, each with three games to play. Keep playing and scoring points to unlock all 36 minigames of "Guinness World Records: The Video Game."
