Instructions

Unlocking Roy in Smash Bros Melee requires playing through the "Classic" mode as the other character from Fire Emblem, Marth. Upon completing Classic, Roy will appear to fight against you. After winning the fight, Roy becomes a playable character. Roy originated from the game Fire Emblem. Released after Melee, Fire Emblem marked the first instance of characters appearing in a Smash Brothers game before their own, independent game.

Discontinued after the release of Super Smash Brothers Melee, Roy appears only as one of the collectible stickers found throughout Super Smash Brothers Brawl. His character cannot be played at any point in the game. Ike, a new character from Fire Emblem, joined the line-up of playable characters in Brawl instead.

Originating as a playable character, Ike need not be unlocked. Select his character at the start up of the game to play your adventure as Ike. Fourteen other characters can be unlocked throughout Super Smash Brothers Brawl. This includes the reemergence of fellow Fire Emblem character Marth.
