How to Get a Gold Medal in Wii Sports

There are five sports in the "Wii Sports" game. In the training area you can sharpen your skills and earn different medals based on your skill level. There are four different medals that you can earn including a golf medal, which is the second highest medal. Each sport varies in how many points you must get to earn a gold medal, and each sport has three areas in which to earn a medal.

      Turn on the Wii game system and start the "Wii Sports" program.

      Select the training option and then select the Mii person you wish to play. If you are just getting started, you will need to create a Mii by going into the Mii plaza on the main screen and selecting create a "new" Mii. Go through the different screen tabs to change things like hair style, eye shape and color, lips, height and even lines on the face.

      Pick the sport you wish to try and look at the list of training options under the sport. Select the one you prefer. There are many to choose from, such as dodging balls in boxing or breaking a target with a tennis balls. If you are playing for the first time, some levels won't be available to you until you play the first levels for a while.

      Practice the sport's exercises often to improve your skills. Some sports require more work than others. For instance, the home run option in baseball only has 10 total balls for you to hit, while the batting practice option has 30. Also some levels have thing built in to mess with you. An example is the tennis target practice. If you hit the wall repeatedly instead of the target, you will cause the wall to crumble and create hole that the ball will go through.

      Hit 10 out of 10 over the wall in baseball's "Home run" for a golf medal. Hit 27 out of 30 in "Batting Practice" or 55 in "Swing Control" to get the same. For tennis, hit 50 balls in "Returning Balls", 30 in "Swing Timing", or 20 targets in "Target Practice". In bowling, make 17 points in "Getting Spares", 600 points in "Power throws", or 17 points in "Controlling Spin". Golf requires 10 points in "Putting", a ball hit within 164 feet in "Getting to the Green", or 600 points in "Target Practice". Finally, in boxing knock out 35 bags in "Punching the Bag", get 80 points in "Dodge Ball", or get 60 points in "Punches".
